The Texas Rangers are a professional baseball team based in Arlington, Texas. They were established in 1961 as part of the MLB during an expansion effort by the league. They were originally established as the Washington Senators and were moved to Texas in 1972 during a league restructuring. They play their games at Rangers ballpark in Arlington and are one of three professional baseball teams in the state of Texas.
