Winter Classic

The NHL Winter Classic is a outdoor hockey game that is held on New Year's Day. A regular season hockey game is moved to an outdoor sanctioned arena that is hosted by an NHL team. This event was established in 2006, and has been held five times. The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers are the teams that have been in the highly anticipated game the most of any teams in the NHL, holding two appearances each.
